It appears that the Vancouver Canucks will need to wait another season before signing defensive prospect Aiden Celebrini. According to a report from The Hockey News' Max Miller, Celebrini will be returning to Boston University next season. Miller's source was Aiden's brother Macklin, who currently plays for the San Jose Sharks.

Initially drafted #171st overall in 2023, Celebrini has spent the last two seasons with the Terriers. Over that time, he has played in 64 games and was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the 2023-24 season. This season, Celebrini has suited up for 26 games and has recorded six points and 40 blocked shots.

The Canucks still have plenty of time to sign Celebrini before his rights expire. According to PuckPedia, the 20-year-old will remain on Vancouver's reserve list until August 15, 2027, which means he can play another two seasons in the NCAA. Next season, Celebrini is projected to take on a larger role with Boston University and should be a key part of their leadership team.

Up next for Celebrini and Terriers will be the Hockey East Tournament Semifinal against UConn. Boston University is 1-0-1 against UConn this season, with their last meeting being a victory via a shootout. Puck drop is scheduled for March 20 at 1:00 pm PT.
