At even strength, Vancouver held a 24-12 scoring chances advantage while also winning the high-danger scoring chances battle 11-3. Most of Detroit's shots came from the faceoff dots, thanks to the Canucks ability to box out and clear loose pucks. Vancouver also did a good job of blocking initial shot attempts, especially Noah Juulsen, who finished with a game-high five blocked shots. During their 9:28 together, the Canucks held a 7-2 scoring chances advantage and won the high-danger scoring chances battle 3-0. While it took a little bit of time, this trio seems to have found their groove and, like last year, are dominating the play in the offensive zone. Lastly, Elias Pettersson played one of his best games of the season against the Red Wings. He recorded three primary assists, had two blocked shots and finished the game with an even-strength xGF% of 63.69%. With J.T. Miller out of the lineup, Pettersson continues to step up his game and prove why he is one of the centers in the NHL.
