Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Lukas Cormier has been activated off of the long-term injury reserve and has been assigned to the Henderson Silver Knights.

Cormier, a 22-year-old left-handed defenseman, has not played a game this season due to an injury and missed the entirety of training camp because of it. Finally, now healthy, Cormier will join the Silver Knights squad in the AHL

Drafted in the third-round (68th overall) in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Cormier joined the Silver Knights in the 2022-23 season. His rookie campaign was excellent, producing 10 goals and 35 points in 62 games.

The following season saw his offensive production dip but his defensive game improve. He scored just four goals and 20 points in 58 games but earned his first NHL call-up, recording one assist in two games.

The season hasn't been too kind to the Silver Knights, sitting in last place in the Pacific Division and sitting in fourth last among all AHL teams. With 19 games remaining, Cormier will get a decent run of games to end the season and get his feet back under him.

He'll make his season debut tonight against the San Jose Barracuda, skating alongside fellow youngster Joe Fleming.

The Golden Knights have high hopes for Cormier and he looks to be a future cornerstone on their blue line.
