Bruce Cassidy has elected to start Adin Hill in Game 6. It will be his second consecutive start for the Vegas Golden Knights.
Logan Thompson had started the first four games of the series before Cassidy decided to go with the experience of Hill. In Game 5, Hill stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced, finishing with a .880SV% and 3.10GAA.
There were multiple instances where Hill looked uncomfortable in the crease. There was a lot of unnecessary movements and a lack of calmness in the crease. As the game went on he did show signs of finding his bearings.
The experience Cassidy refers to when talking about Hill was in his dominant playoff run last year. He was stellar in all four rounds and was dynamite in between the pipes against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals.
They'll want that version of Hill to show up tonight and not the one who's been struggling to find his game since his injury in the regular season.
They'll need Hill to have a monstrous performance out of the 27-year-old if they want to force a Game 7. The Stars have found their groove and will be looking to end the series tonight before giving the Golden Knights another chance at winning the series.
