The Washington Capitals are keeping a close eye on their prospects as the AHL-affiliate Hershey Bears enter a do-or-die Game 7 of the Calder Cup Finals against the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Wednesday.
Hershey had the chance to take the title in Game 6 but fell 5-2 after winning three straight games back home. Now, Todd Nelson's group will look to take back the series and win what would be their 12th Calder Cup, the most in league history.
The action kicks off at 10 p.m. ET with the game taking place in Southern California, and it will be available to watch for free.
AHL TV will be streaming the final game of the season and making it available for everyone to check out. The game will be live here.
NBC Sports Washington will also broadcast the AHL season finale. The network also announced on Wednesday it would become Monumental Sports Network starting in 2023-24. NHL Network is also carrying the game.
Capitals prospects to keep an eye on in Game 7 include Aliaksei Protas, Joe Snively, Ethen Frank, Connor McMichael, Hendrix Lapierre, Beck Malenstyn, Lucas Johansen, Vincent Iorio, Hunter Shepard and more.
Meanwhile, Potomac, Maryland native Sam Anas is also trying to etch his name in AHL history and win a Calder Cup.
