The Washington Capitals will look a bit different, with a new top-6 as they take on the Anaheim Ducks and aim to continue getting back to their high-scoring ways from the start of the year.
Here's everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.
The Capitals are shaking things up on the top-6, with Pierre-Luc Dubois replacing Dylan Strome as Alex Ovechkin's center. Connor McMichael and Tom Wilson will play between Strome, while Aliaksei Protas moves to that top line.
"We can't just wait for a power play to try and score," Dylan Strome said of trying to spark the offense at 5-on-5.
Logan Thompson gets the start as the team looks to him to take the reins in net with Charlie Lindgren on the injured reserve.
Here are the line combinations:
Alex Ovechkin-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Aliaksei Protas
Connor McMichael-Dylan Strome-Tom Wilson
Taylor Raddysh-Lars Eller-Ethen Frank
Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Andrew Mangiapane
Rasmus Sandin-John Carlson
Martin Fehervary-Matt Roy
Jakob Chychrun-Trevor van Riemsdyk
Logan Thompson
Hunter Shepard
- Tom Wilson has three goals in his last five outings.
- Pierre-Luc Dubois has 20 points in his last 21 games played.
- Jakobn C
As always, keep an eye on Alex Ovechkin. The 39-year-old picked up goal No. 873 on an empty-netter against the Nashville Predators back on Saturday and is hungry to continue his pursuit of Wayne Gretzky. He's struck in five of nine games since returning from a broken leg.
- The fourth line has also been buzzing thanks to Andrew Mangiapane working well with Brandon Duhaime and Nic Dowd, so watch for that, too.
- Jakob Chychrun, as always, is a threat, as is Pierre-Luc Dubois.
- Dylan Strome faces his brother, Ryan, so watch for him to try and take center stage in the showdown between siblings.
