- T.J. Oshie is questionable due to an upper-body injury. It's unclear if it's related to the non-contact injury he suffered on Feb. 22 that he recently returned from.
- Nicklas Backstrom remains on indefinite leave due to his hip not responding as he'd hoped following hip resurfacing surgery.
- If Oshie plays, he will become the 390th skater and 62nd U.S.-born skater in NHL history to hit the 1,000-game mark. He will also be the 10th player from the 2005 draft class to reach that milestone. Oshie also scored last game.
- Connor McMichael has goals in back-to-back games, including the game-winner on Thursday.
- Alex Ovechkin has points in six of his last eight outings and is two goals away from the most 20-goal seasons in NHL history.
- Ivan Miroshnichenko has two goals in his last five games. If he plays, he will officially burn the first year of the three-year, entry-level contract he signed this summer.
- Sonny Milano has goals in five of the last eight games and eight points in 10 games since returning from an upper-body injury that held him out for over two months.
- Dylan Strome has eight points in his last six games.
- Hendrix Lapierre has six points in 10 games since his latest call-up and is among the NHL's rookie leaders in scoring since returning to the NHL on Feb. 26.
- The Capitals have power-play goals in nine of the last 10 outings overall.
