    Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin earned consideration for the Hart Memorial Teophy.

    Ovechkin finished eighth in voting, earning one first-place vote, one second-place vote, two fourth-place votes and 15 fifth-place votes.

    Despite missing 16 games with a broken leg, the 39-year-old finished third in the NHL in scoring with 44 goals to overtake Wayne Gretzky as the league’s all-time goals leader.
