Here's what to know before the Capitals host the Bruins.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals will look to build off the gutsy win they pulled off on Thursday in Buffalo, as they take things back to home ice against the Boston Bruins.

They won't have any lineup changes for the Capitals, who will going with the same formation against the Bruins. David Kampf, who was acquired ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline, will remain out as he continues working through visa issues.

Ivan Miroshnichenko will be the other extra forward up front.

Timothy Liljegren, Washington's other deadline acquisition, will remain on on defense, where he's played primarily alongside Martin Fehervary. Coach Spencer Carbery has liked what he's seen from the 26-year-old, praising his skating, positioning and hockey IQ.

Declan Chisholm and Dylan McIlrath will remain healthy scratches.

Logan Thompson will get the start in goal against Boston, who sits five points ahead of D.C. for the second Wild Card spot.

When it comes to keys to success, Carbery is looking for the Capitals to scrape together a couple of dirty goals and playing smart against a Bruins team that truly embraces its systems and defense. He also stressed discipline; facing Boston at TD Garden just one week ago, Washington took six penalties.

"We want to keep things 5-on-5 as much as possible," Carbery stressed.

The Capitals have won two of their last three games and six of the last seven overall at home, including a 7-3 thriller over the Calgary Flames back on Monday.

Puck drop is at 3 p.m. at Capital One Arena. T
