    WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are back for Game 2, and this time, looking for a more complete effort as they try to build on a series lead against the Montreal Canadiens.

    Here's everything to know before puck drop at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena.

    Washington Capitals Line Combinations

    The Capitals lines will remain the same as they were for Game 1, with Alex Alexeyev filling in for Martin Fehervary despite losing three teeth and Logan Thompson getting the start.

    Washington Capitals Injury Updates

    - Aliaksei Protas (skate cut to foot) continued to skate on Wednesday ahead of the optional morning skate and was in a regular jersey, marking a significant step forward. He is expected to return at some point in the first round.

    - Martin Fehervary (meniscus) underwent knee surgery and is out for the rest of the playoffs.

    - Alex Ovechkin made history in Game 1 with two goals, including his first career OT winner, an assist and a team-leading seven hits. Look for him to make an impact again.

    - Dylan Strome had three assists in Game 1, the most on the team, and is looking to continue building on his performance.

    - Anthony Beauvillier has filled in beautifully on the top line and had a goal and assist in Game 1. Watch for his speed in Game 2.

    - Pierre-Luc Dubois was a force on the puck in Game 1 and is tasked with a big shutdown role against the top line, as are his linemates.

    - Physicality was rampant Game 1 and tensions boiled over. Surely, it’ll come up again Wednesday.
