WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are looking to put two tough games on the road behind them, and Alex Ovechkin will try to continue his GR8 Chase as the team returns home to take on the Buffalo Sabres.

Here's everything to know before puck drop at 3 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.

Washington Capitals Line Combinations

The Capitals will stick with the same line combinations, though they expect lineup changes in the coming games. Logan Thompson gets the nod.

- Aliaksei Protas has points in five of his last six games, along with Alex Ovechkin.

- Anthony Beauvillier, as well as Matt Roy, have points in three of their last four games.

Washington Capitals Storylines

- Alex Ovechkin is sitting at 889 goals and is six away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record of 895. Watch for him to continue that chase against Buffalo.

- Keep an eye on Brandon Duhaime, who scored last game and continues to heat up.

- The power play is also long overdue for a goal; it has gone 10 straight games without converting and is 0-for-18 over that span.
