WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals saw things fall apart at the worst time, as they dropped the biggest game of the season in a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.
Alex Ovechkin had the lone goal in the loss, which makes the playoff picture even blurrier with the Penguins now one point back of a Wild Card spot and D.C. knocked out of the second Wild Card by the New York Islanders.
