The Capitals may be bringing another netminder up from Hershey with Lindgren having missed the morning skate.

The Washington Capitals are looking to extend their winning streak and pick up where they left off following a red-hot November against the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights, but they face some questions before puck drop.

Charlie Lindgren's status remains up in the air, as the 29-year-old missed the team's morning skate on Saturday due to body maintenance.

Head coach Spencer Carbery said it was just a maintenance day and that he should be good, but it does appear that Hunter Sheaprd is coming up from the AHL's Hershey Bears and that Lindgren could sit this one out.

Mitchell Gibson, who was one of two Washington goalie prospects to score a goal on Friday, was brought up to Hershey and will back up Clay Stevenson for the Bears on Saturday against the Charlotte Checkers, indicating that Hunter Shepard is on the way to Vegas. Nothing has been confirmed at this time, though.

In other lineup news, there aren't many changes up front, except that Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov will be separated as Dylan Strome takes No. 92's spot as the first-line center.

Carbery explained the decision, saying that the top trio "hasn't fared well analytically for us at all," and that the team will need to be firing on all cylinders to keep the good times rolling.

"We’re going to need production from all four lines, and being able to do that, we just feel like we need a bit of a different look," Carbery said.

The rest of the lines are expected to stay the same, with Kuznetsov expected to fill in for Strome alongside Sonny Milano and either Hendrix Lapierre or Matthew Phillips.

Puck drop is at 10 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena.
