The Capitals are sticking with what worked as they play host to Dallas.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are sticking with what worked as they head into their third game of the season against the Dallas Stars.

Per head coach Spencer Carbery, the Capitals will keep their lines from Tuesday, which saw Alex Ovechkin alternate between right and left wing with Aliaksei Protas on the top trio. Jakub Vrana will also remain in the lineup, while Sonny Milano will be the healthy scratch.

On defense, Dylan McIlrath will remain in for an injured Matt Roy, who will miss his second game of the year.

Lindgren will make his second start in three games as Logan Thompson, who stopped 24 of 26 shots in a 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, will get the night off and back up.

Here's the projected lineup:

Alex Ovechkin-Dylan Strome-Aliaksei Protas

Connor McMichael-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Tom Wilson
