The Capitals are holding a pregame ceremony to celebrate Oshie.

The Washington Capitals will see T.J. Oshie make his return to the lineup on Sunday, as the forward will make his return from injury just in time to be honored against the Winnipeg Jets for playing in 1,000 NHL games.

Head coach Spencer Carbery told reporters that barring any setbacks, Oshie will be back in the lineup, along with Aliaksei Protas. Oshie has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury.

He is being honored with a pregame ceremony for reaching 1K, a feat he reached back on March 16 against the Vancouver Canucks. Washington will wear also wear No. 77 jerseys during warmups to honor the 37-year-old, who has 379 points over nine years with D.C.

Getting Oshie back should be a big boost for the Capitals, who are missing Tom Wilson amid a six-game suspension.

Washington is coming off a wild 7-6 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes and sit one point out of a playoff spot.
