    The Capitals will try to get back in the win column against the defending Cup champion Panthers.

    WASHINGTON — After salvaging points in back-to-back games, the Washington Capitals are back in action and looking for a win, this time against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

    Here's everything to know before puck drop at Capital One Arena at 7 p.m. ET.

    The Capitals aren't making any changes, as they hope they can continue to find chemistry and find offense at all strengths.

    Logan Thompson will get the start, with coach Spencer Carbery deciding to use him in back-to-back games.

    - Pierre-Luc Dubois has points in four straight games and goals in five of the last seven, and his 26 points over the last 27 games lead the team over that span.

    - Dylan Strome is riding a three-game point streak, with four points over that span as he became the first Washington player this season to hit 60 points.

    - Alex Ovechkin has goals in back-to-back games and is 18 away from passing Wayne Gretzky for the most in NHL history.

    - Watch out for Tom Wilson, who has points in back-to-back games and continues to be a threat on that top line.
