No one has trademarked an area of the ice more than Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin's taken over "The Office." At the same time, newcomer Jordan Kyrou has taken ownership of shooting from the slot.

Per NHL EDGE, Ovechkin has scored 51 goals from the left circle over the last five years, a significant lead over other shooters from that specific area of the ice.

Ovechkin, who turns 41 in September, is coming off another 30-plus goal campaign. The greatest goal scorer in NHL history sits at 929 career goals and 1,006 combined goals between regular season and playoffs.

He also has the most power-play goals of all-time with 331, with the majority of those coming from the left circle off his lethal one-timer.

Ovechkin is returning to D.C. on a one-year contract, where he'll look to add to his goal total while hoping to help his team make a legitimate run at the Stanley Cup following a blockbuster offseason.

Meanwhile, Kyrou, acquired by Washington ahead of the 2026 draft as part of the organization's standout summer, has scored 42 goals from the slot at mid-range, the most among all NHLers over the same span.

The 28-year-old right wing is coming off a bit of a down year, where he scored 18 goals and added 28 assists for 46 points in 72 games. However, he scored at least 30 goals in each of the previous three seasons, and has managed at least 67 points in four of the last five campaigns.

Kyrou is expected to bolster D.C.'s top-6 and bring more speed to the mix.
