The Washington Capitals may be without a key piece up front on Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, as Tom Wilson is a game-time decision.

Wilson left Saturday's 8-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins after taking a cross-check from Ryan Graves to the ribcage. He was seen postgame in a back brace, and though Spencer Carbery didn't think the injury was "too crazy," he may have to sit out against Connor McDavid and Edmonton.

The 30-year-old has been a vital piece of the puzzle for Washington so far this season, picking up a career-high 25 goals and adding 18 assists for 43 points through 56 games. He is on pace for 63 points this season, a career high.

Wilson's status will be decided during warmups. Puck drop is at 1 p.m. at Capital One Arena. If Wilson can't play, Jakub Vrana will slot back into the lineup. It would be his first game since Jan. 6.

Meanwhile, the rest of the lineup will remain the same, with Charlie Lindgren getting the start in goal after Logan Thompson stopped 30 of 33 against Pittsburgh less than 24 hours ago.
