The Capitals face the Blues on Tuesday to kick off a three-game road swing.

The Washington Capitals are back on the road, and they got some good news ahead of Tuesday's tilt against the St. Louis Blues with Ethen Frank's injury not as severe as it initially seemed.

Per coach Spencer Carbery, Frank is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, and he did travel with the team on its three-game trip out west.

The 29-year-old was hurt early on in the team's 3-2 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche after taking a push from Devon Toews and crashing hard into the net.

With Frank out for Tuesday's contest, Ivan Miroshnichenko will draw into the lineup after sitting out the last eight games as a healthy scratch. He's expected to draw in on the fourth line with Brandon Duhaime and Hendrix Lapierre.

Miroshnichenko, who got four games up with D.C. earlier in the year, was called up to Washington at the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline to serve as an extra forward for the second half of the season. In 38 games with the Hershey Bears this season, the Russian winger picked up 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points.

The rest of the Capitals lineup is expected to remain the same, with Logan Thompson projected to start. Carbery didn't confirm his starting goaltender when speaking with the media, so Charlie Lindgren is also an option.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m. at Enterprise Center.
