Steven Bisig — Imagn ImagesThe Washington Capitals will again face some complications due to injury against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, as Rasmus Sandin and Matt Roy remain questionable while Logan Thompson is on the shelf with an upper-body ailment.
Per coach Spencer Carbery, Sandin and Roy both have "potential to play" against the Detroit Red Wings, while Thompson is officially listed as day-to-day.
Thompson took a shot to the mask last game against the Seattle Kraken, one so heavy it knocked his entire helmet off. He was in visible discomfort and briefly attended to by Jason Serbus, but ultimately, stayed in the game and finished the night with 27 saves on 32 shots in a 5-1 loss.
With Thompson out, Clay Stevenson has been recalled from the AHL's Hershey Bears to play second chair to Charlie Lindgren, who's expected to start for the Capitals.
Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. in Detroit.
