

Washington Capitals prospect Ryan Leonard finished his regular NCAA season in style, taking home the Hockey East scoring title and the Three Stars Award after a stellar regular season with Boston College.
Leonard finished with 25 goals and 12 assists for 37 points in 24 games with the Eagles to lead the conference in goals and points this season.
His 1.54 points per game, 116 shots and eight game-winners were also the most among all Hockey East players, and he also won the Three Stars Award for being named one of three stars on the most occasions this season.
The 20-year-old is a sophomore and now has his sights set on winning a NCAA championship with Boston College after falling short to Denver last season. After that, he's expected to make the NHL jump and sign his entry-level contract with Washington.
Leonard was taken eighth overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, with the Capitals sighting his goal-scoring prowess, grit and high hockey IQ. He's expected to be an impact player immediately when he does join the pro ranks, so much so that Washington factored him into its trade deadline plans.
