With the trade deadline just 24 hours away, the Washington Capitals are taking care of more business, as they recalled Alex Alexeyev from his conditioning loan with the AHL's Hershey Bears.

Alexeyev appeared in three games for Hershey, picking up two assists and a plus/minus rating of plus-5. The conditioning loan allowed Alexeyev, who had been scratched for 46 consecutive games up with Washington, to get some ice time in and into the rhythm of playing games.

The 25-year-old has gotten to play in just five games with the Capitals this season and was a plus-4.

With Alexeyev back up on the roster, Washington can further evaluate its blue line leading up to the trade deadline. Alexeyev has plenty of upside and promise, and there is still a lot of potential as he continues his journey.
