WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are looking to shake off back-to-back regulation losses and get back on track, and they'll have the chance to do that in a Saturday matinee against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Here's everything to know before puck drop at 12:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
Tom Wilson is back and healthy after missing last game due to illness, and the lines will look the same as they have been. Logan Thompson will get the start as the goaltending rotation continues.
Here are the combinations:
Alex Ovechkin-Dylan Strome-Tom Wilson
Connor McMichael-Pierre-Luc Dubois-Aliaksei Protas
Andrew Mangiapane-Lars Eller-Ethen Frank
Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Taylor Raddysh
Rasmus Sandin-John Carlson
Martin Fehervary-Matt Roy
Jakob Chychrun-Trevor van Riemsdyk
Logan Thompson
- Connor McMichael has points in five of his last six outings.
- Tom Wilson has four goals and six points in his last four games.
- Pierre-Luc Dubois has points in four of his last five games, with seven points over that span.
- Dylan Strome and John Carlson have points in nine of their last 10 contents.
- Alex Ovechkin is just 12 goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record and has eight goals in his last nine games.
- As always, look out for Aliaksei Protas, who continues to make significant strides this season and ranks second in team scoring with 50 points on the season.
- Taylor Raddysh also got a lot of opportunity last game and is racking up helpers, so watch for him to make an impact as well.
