ARLINGTON, V.A. — Charlie Lindgren made his way back to D.C. on Tuesday to rejoin the Washington Capitals for informal skates, and he has a brand new look, too.
Lindgren debuted his new mask and pad setup for the 2026-27 campaign, which heavily features the classic "iceberg" design he's sported over the course of his goaltending career.
The 32-year-old netminder's mask features the pattern in Capitals colors, along with the team's "Weagle" and his nickname, "Ch Ch," on the chin.
He also went back to primarily white pads, along with his glove and blocker, after debuting a navy and red color scheme last season, with a red and blue iceberg design.
Here's a closer look at Lindgren's set for this season.
He's not the only netminder with a new look; Logan Thompson has debuted his "Mars Attacks!" mask for this season, and has home and away pads featuring stars.
Lindgren is looking to bounce back after a rough go last season, where he primarily played the second half of back to backs as Thompson's backup.
"When I look at it overall, I mean, it was a little more challenging this year, for sure, not getting as many games," Lindgren said at the end of the season. "Was maybe a little tougher, but certainly, no excuses.
"My focus right now is 100 percent on the 2026-27 season and what's going to best set me up for a big year next year," he added, "I'm 32 now. I have a pretty good idea of what my game looks like and what it needs to look like. I'm just going to continue to just sharpen the sword. That's what I'm going to try and do, just get to work this summer and just fine-tune all aspects of my game. I'm very, very determined right now.”
