Of course, Alex Ovechkin wasn't leaving empty handed, and scored on an empty-netter for career goal No. 886. He is now nine away from passing Wayne Gretzky for the most in NHL history. It also marked career point No. 1,600.

Tom Wilson also made quite the impact setting thte tone and changing the game, picking up six hits and pulling D.C. back into the fight.

Charlie Lindgren Comes Up Big

It was a huge game for Charlie Lindgren, who stepped up to keep the Capitals in the game as they rallied late. Lindgren stopped 29 of 31 shots, coming up big to stop the Kraken and shut them down until Washington found its footing late.

Line Brawl Breaks Out

A line brawl also broke out to help spark Washington in the third, starting with Tom Wilson getting into it with Josh Mahura.

Everyone on the ice got matching roughing penalties, while Brandon Duhaime earned another minor penalty and a misconduct for his actions.
