Top Capitals prospects will play for their countries at the World Junior Summer Showcase.

Washington Capitals prospect Alexander Suzdalev is getting recognized for his hard work, as he's been named to Team Sweden's roster for the U20 World Junior Summer Showcase.

The showcase will take place in Plymouth, Massachusetts, from July 20 to Aug. 7. He joins a loaded Swedish roster that also features a number of top Swedish prospects, including Axel Sandin-Pelilkka, Otto Stenberg, Theo Lindstein and more.

Suzdalev is coming off a stellar campaign with the WHL's Regina Pats, where he set himself apart alongside Connor Bedard. While the two were linemates for a period of time, Suzdalev didn't spend the majority of his time next to Bedard and finished the season with 38 goals and 48 assists for 86 points in 66 games. He was also a black ace for the Hershey Bears during their Calder Cup run.

The Russian-born Swede was most recently at Capitals development camp, where he showcased his speed, skating, impressive shot and playmaking ability while continuing to improve his defensive play and physicality. He was taken in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft (No. 70) with the pick acquired from the New Jersey Devils as part of the Vitek Vanecek trade.

In addition to Suzdalev, Washington prospects Ryan Leonard and Ryan Chesley will be skating for Team USA on split teams.
