    The Capitals prospect was found at a nearby address and arrested after police found an unoccupied, running vehicle with blood on the door and leading away from the car.

    Washington Capitals prospect Cam Allen has been suspended indefinitely by the Ontario Hockey League following his arrest for drunk driving, the league announced on Tuesday.

    The London Knights blueliner is home with his family in Toronto and will fully cooperate with authorities and proceed with court hearings, GM Mark Hunter and the Knights said as per the London Free Press.

    On Saturday around 3:20 a.m., London police responded to a single-vehicle collision and found an unoccupied, running vehicle with blood on the driver's side door and leading away from the car. Allen was found at a nearby address and arrested. One passenger was taken to the hospital.

    Allen was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance impaired operation exceeding blood alcohol concentration, failure to remain at the scene, failure to report the accident and novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

    The 20-year-old, who previously served as Canada's U18 captain, was drafted by Washington in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft and signed his entry-level contract this summer.

    Allen is next set to appear in court on March 6. In the meantime, he will not be allowed to skate with the team or play in any upcoming games.
