The 29-year-old had several ten-bell saves and got hurt on his 33rd stop of the night.

The Washington Capitals have gotten standout play from Charlie Lindgren against the Boston Bruins, but they will be without him for the remainder of the third period after he suffered an injury on a huge stop,

On his 33rd save of the night, Lindgren went across to stop Taylor Hall, who crashed the net and tried to fire home a pass to the slot from Connor Clifton.

After stretching across for the highlight-reel stop, Lindgren went down in visible pain and lied down on the ice, clutching at his back and right hip area.

Athletic trainer Jason Serbus consulted with Lindgren for a few minutes before he got to his feet and left the game. Darcy Kuemper is now in for the 29-year-old netminder.

Prior to leaving the game, Lindgren had another near injury scare, as he lost his glove and went to catch a shot with his bare hand. The puck just missed his hand and hit his padded forearm.

The Minnesota native stopped 33 of 36 shots (.916 save percentage) before leaving the game.

Lindgren has appeared in 30 games this season, going 13-10-3 with a .898 save percentage.
