The Capitals netminder shut out the Boston Bruins last night.

For Charlie Lindgren, a dream of 20 years will come true on Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Just 24 hours after shutting out the Boston Bruins, Lindgren will get the start for the Capitals in a must-win game against the Flyers, head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed to reporters in Philadelphia.

It marks the second back-to-back series this season that Lindgren will play both games of. The last was a home-and-home against his brother, Ryan, and the New York Rangers, who D.C. will face in the first round if it clinches a playoff spot.

For Lindgren, he's more than ready for the challenge.

"I've been dreaming of this moment for 20 years, honestly. Since I've been playing, these are the kind of games where 10-year-old me, thinking about playing in the NHL in a playoff push, I'd have to pinch myself," Lindgren said.

Tuesday will mark Lindgren's 50th game of the season. Through 49 games so far, he has a .910 save percentage and six shutouts, which are tied for the most in the league, while he also ranks eighth among goaltenders with at least 49 games played in goals saved above expected (9).

Washington needs a win of any fashion over Philadelphia to clinch a playoff spot on Tuesday. An overtime or shootout loss keeps the Capitals alive as long as they get help from the out-of-town scoreboard. A regulation loss to the Flyers will eliminate Washington.

"I can't take my foot off the gas for one second, because all it takes is one shot and one play," Lindgren said of his play on Monday, and added, "We take care of our business, we know where we're going to be at. That's our focus: focus on us, and let's get after it."

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center.
