The Capitals blue line will be back to full strength for the first time since the second period of the season opener.

It looks like the Washington Capitals will have all of their regular defensemen available for Saturday's tilt with the St. Louis Blues, as Jakob Chychrun appears set to make his return to the lineup.

Per the NHL media site, Chychrun has been activated off the injured reserve, meaning he is cleared to play on Saturday after missing the last five games due to an upper-body injury he suffered on Oct. 29 against the New York Rangers.

This will be the first time since the second period of the home opener that the team's blue line will be at full strength with both Chychrun and Matt Roy back from early-season ailments.

Getting Chychrun back will be big for Washington, who has allowed at least 30 shots in four consecutive games and is also desperately looking to bolster its power play. He has been steady on the top pairing with John Carlson, where he's expected to return, and he logs important minutes to boot.

Though Chychrun's back in the mix, the Capitals are dealing with more injury woes, as Sonny Milano was placed on the IR due to an upper-body injury he suffered on Wednesday against the Nashville Predators.

Milano's placement on the IR allowed the team to recall an extra forward, as Mike Sgarbossa returned from the AHL's Hershey Bears. Jakub Vrana is expected to remain in the lineup, though, as he's riding a three-game point streak and impressed despite a 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.

Washington faces St. Louis at 7 p.m. at Enterprise Center on Saturday.
