Here's everything to know on the injury front for the Capitals.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals got a lot of positive news on the injury front at Wednesday's practice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, as Spencer Carbery confirmed progress for both Max Pacioretty and T.J. Oshie, though there's still ways to go for No. 67.

Pacioretty, who is recovering from his second torn Achilles in a span of five months, has been ramping up more and continues to skate on his own. While the Capitals were on their five-game road trip, he and Oshie took the ice for some work and skated with skills coach Kenny McCudden, who stayed behind to skate with the injured players.

Carbery said that Pacioretty's progress is going well, though there's not a specific timetable yet for when he will join the team for a skate and start gearing up toward a return to play.

"He's moving along quite well," Carbery said. "Skated with Kenny essentially the whole time that we were gone, and he's getting there. I don't think anything in the next two weeks, but we're getting there. It's coming along."

Meanwhile, Oshie joined the group today for the entirety of practice sporting a non-contact jersey, a welcome sign after he missed the five-game road trip out west. It marked the first time he's skated with the team since suffering an upper-body injury on a collision with Mattias Ekholm in a Nov. 24 game against the Edmonton Oilers.

"It felt they were gone for the whole summer," he joked. "Nice to have them back. Wearing a non-contact jersey kind of sucked. To be honest, you just don't get a lot of action out there, which is probably the point of it, but get a normal color tomorrow and on Friday and see where we can go."

Oshie will not dress for Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars, but he could be back in the mix for Saturday's meeting with the New York Rangers.

"I've felt good for a while now," he affirmed.

Nicklas Backstrom remains on an indefinite leave of absence from the team as he steps away from hockey due to chronic hip issues. However, he has been around the team and the facility.
