WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are dealing with more injuries as the 2023-24 season kicks off, and on Monday, they announced some key updates ahead of their tilt against the Calgary Flames.
Washington recalled Clay Stevenson on Monday with Charlie Lindgren now listed as day-to-day following an injury suffered during the optional morning skate.
With Stevenson coming up, the team placed Joel Edmundson on the long-term injured reserve to open up a roster spot and cap space. This means he will miss at least 10 games and 24 days to open the campaign, but it can be retroactive. He had hand surgery in late September after being injured in a non-game scrimmage at the start of training camp.
Darcy Kuemper will start on Monday.
