The Capitals have been without Oshie since Dec. 16 and Milano since Dec. 9.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — After having returned to his home state of Minnesota for treatment to address an upper-body injury, T.J. Oshie was back with the Washington Capitals on Tuesday and could be back in the lineup sooner rather than later.

Oshie was a full go at Tuesday's practice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, taking full contact and not holding back in drills. Per head coach Spencer Carbery, he could very well be back in as soon as Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.

"Potential for this week," Carbery said of Oshie's timetable. "Seattle. We'll see how he does post-practice today. Tomorrow, one more practice, and then we'll go from there."

Oshie, 37, has not played since Dec. 16, when he had the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators. It is unclear if the injury is related to back issues he had last season, which ultimately resulted in him undergoing a double ablation back in April.

Not only is Oshie on the way back up, but Sonny Milano is making strides as well. He skated again in a non-contact jersey and stayed on for some extra work, and the plan is to get him upgraded to contact in the coming days.

"He's progressing. I think the next step is he would remove that (non-contact jersey), potentially even tomorrow," Carbery said. "Get a full-contact practice in. He's been out a little bit here, so I always get a little bit leary of putting someone back in with just one practice having missed as much time as he has. But we'll see on that one."

It has been exactly one month since Milano last played. He had a goal in that Dec. 9 game against the New York Rangers but appeared to be shaken up on a hit by Jacob Trouba. The 26-year-old's latest update had him listed as week-to-week.
