WASHINGTON — The locker room at Capital One Arena had a somber feel to it on Friday, as the Washington Capitals found themselves on the brink of elimination following a 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers.
While belief is still alive in the room, according to the players brought out to discuss with the media, the loss was a frustrating one, and the weight of a potential sweep feels heavy.
"Yeah it's frustrating, but it's reality," Charlie Lindgren said bluntly. "Our back's against the wall, so we're not gonna give up."
Here's what the Capitals had to say postgame, including more from Ovechkin on his scoring woes to open the playoffs, Tom Wilson's thoughts on Matt Rempe and the hit on Trevor van Riemsdyk and more.
