The Capitals will be missing a key piece of the blue line against Boston.
WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals will be without a key defenseman against the Boston Bruins, as Rasmus Sandin will miss Saturday's contest due to a lower-body injury.
Defenseman Vincent Iorio, who was called up earlier this week with Ethan Bear entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, will draw into the lineup and make his season debut with the Capitals.
It'll be a big night for the blue line, as John Carlson is set to play in his 1,000th NHL game against Boston.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena. Here is the lineup:
Alex Ovechkin-Connor McMichael-T.J. Oshie
Aliaksei Protas-Dylan Strome-Ivan Miroshnichenko
Max Pacioretty-Hendrix Lapierre-Sonny Milano
Beck Malenstyn-Nic Dowd-Mike Sgarbossa
Martin Fehervary-John Carlson
Alex Alexeyev-Nick Jensen
Trevor van Riemsdyk-Vincent Iorio
