
The Washington Capitals released their 2022-23 regular season schedule on Tuesday, and they open their year in the best way possible.
Washington will kick off the new campaign with a home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, Oct. 13.
Here's the full schedule:
The Capitals will have five days off from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1 before the 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend from Feb. 2-3 in Toronto.
Here are some key dates on the schedule besides the home opener:
Wednesday, Nov. 8 - Washington faces the defending Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers
Tuesday, Nov. 14 - The Capitals play host to the 2023 Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights.
Friday, Nov. 24 - Washington hosts Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in a Black Friday afternoon game at Capital One Arena.
Saturday, Dec. 9 - The Capitals welcome back Peter Laviolette to Capital One Arena as they take on the New York Rangers.
Sunday, Dec. 10 - Washington will face Connor Bedard for the first time as it visits the Chicago Blackhawks.
Sunday, Feb. 11 - The Capitals host the Vancouver Canucks on super bowl Sund.
Monday, April 15 - The Capitals have their home season finale against the Boston Bruins.
Tuesday, April 16 - Washington closes out the regular season with an away game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
