The Capitals winger broke his nose on Sunday.
WASHINGTON — Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will not play in Thursday's game against the Seattle Kraken due to a broken nose.
Wilson did not take the ice for warmups and did not attend the optional morning skate. It will be the first game he will miss this season.
With Wilson out, Max Pacioretty will move up and take his place on the first-line right wing. Hendrix Lapierre will move to Pacioretty's spot on the second-line left wing and skate alongside Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie, who is back in the lineup after missing the last 11 games due to injury.
Wilson broke his nose near the end of Sunday's 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings after colliding with Alex Laferriere and taking a stick to the face.
The 29-year-old had his nose reset and was skating in a full shield on Wednesday, but was dealing with some soreness.
In 38 games this season, Wilson has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. He will represent his team at the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend.
Alex Ovechkin, who was a game-time decision, took rushes and appears to be in against Seattle.
