Washington Capitals defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk has left Saturday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with a lower-body injury and will return.

Van Riemsdyk’s skate appeared to go awkwardly into the boards in the first period. He skated off holding his foot off the ice.
