Here's a look back at a busy week of Capitals news.

The Washington Capitals are officially a quarter of the way through the season, and on Sunday, they closed out a busy week with a light desert practice at Mullett Arena ahead of their final stop of a five-game road swing in Arizona.

    First off, some injury updates.

Washington saw Charlie Lindgren take the ice for practice after missing Saturday's game — and morning skate — against the Vegas Golden Knights due to an illness. Hunter Shepard was called up to help fill in for No. 79, and amid delays, he arrived at the arena shortly before puck drop and was a few minutes late to the bench.

It is unclear if Lindgren will be good to go for Monday's game against the Coyotes, but it would be a major help if he was. He ranks among the top goaltenders in the league this season with a .934 save percentage.

Beyond Lindgren, the entire travelling roster is healthy. The only outstanding injuries are to T.J. Oshie, Max Pacioretty and Nicklas Backstrom.

Oshie stayed back in D.C. as he recovers from an upper-body injury suffered on a collision with Mattias Ekholm on Nov. 25. Pacioretty still continues to skate on his own as he ramps up and prepares to return from his second-torn Achilles, and Nicklas Backstrom has been around the facility but is still taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team due to his ongoing hip issues.

In other news, the organization saw two goaltending prospects score goals in the same night, and in similar, strange fashion. Plus, a 1-on-1 with Beck Malenstyn, the kid who dreamt of being a fourth-line grinder, and poll results from our first-ever fan survey.
