Kuznetsov was with the Capitals' AHL affiliate Hershey in Charlotte at the time of the trade.

Just hours after his trade from the Washington Capitals, Evgeny Kuznetsov was off a private jet and on the ice for Carolina Hurricanes practice on trade deadline day.
Kuznetsov was dealt to Carolina in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick. The Russian, who was skating with the AHL's Hershey Bears after clearing waivers last week, was already in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hurricanes owner Thomas Dundon's private jet picked up Kuznetsov to take him to Raleigh, per The Hockey News' Ryan Henkel.
Kuznetsov was in high spirits as he joined his new NHL team midway through practice, participating almost immediately in a shootout drill. He was wearing his signature No. 92.
The 31-year-old is currently in the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, which he entered in February. He has not yet been cleared for game action but is allowed to practice with the club.
Through 43 games this season, Kuznetsov racked up six goals and 11 assists for 17 points.
