The 33-year-old went down in visible pain at practice.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — Washington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper has left Wednesday's practice with an apparent injury.

Kuemper had been run into earlier in practice, and then later on, in a 3-on-3 scrimmage, he stretched across and appeared to suffer a lower-body injury. He went down in visible pain and was helped to the locker room.

The 33-year-old had just returned from an undisclosed injury that held him out for the last two games on the road for Washington. Kuemper backed up on Tuesday as Charlie Lindgren shut out the Vegas Golden Knights.
