
ARLINGTON, V.A. -- It was a thrilling week at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, as the Washington Capitals up-and-coming prospects took the ice for their annual development camp.
2022 first-rounder Ivan MIroshnichenko and 2023 No. 8 pick Ryan Leonard headlined the attendees, which also included Alexander Suzdalev, Mitchell Gibson and more rising stars, along with a hanful of free agent invitees.

There were quite a few standouts from camp, and the front office put a spotlight on some of those players that stood out. Miroshnichenko and Leonard earned high-praise, along with Andrew Cristall, who signed his entry-level contract on Thursda., Seventh-rounder Antoine Keller and the goaltenders also received shoutouts, in addition to Alexander Suzdalev and Cam Allen.
Looking at camp performances, there were some more players who made a statement: Joaquim Lemay showcased his defensive ability and leadership, while Haakon Hanelt showed off his quick hands. Free agent invite Max Burkholder also made the most of his opportunity, displaying physicality and speed.
