The Washington Capitals will be back at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Saturday as their top prospects take the ice for their annual five-day development camp.
Washington's roster features a number of rising stars, including 2022 first-rounder Ivan Miroshnichenko, 2023 No. 8 overall pick Ryan Leonard, No. 40 selection Andrew Cristall and more.
Miroshnichenko, who just signed his entry-level deal and is officially set to play overseas after terminating his KHL contract, will be in attendance. He has been in remission for over a year following a battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma that kept him from camp last season.
Leonard was taken with the team's first-round pick on Wednesday. The NTDP forward is coming off an impressive season that saw him rack up 51 goals and 43 assists for 94 points in just 57 appearances. He is known for his gritty, powerful style of play and will play at Boston College in the fall.
Cristall is among the steals of this year's draft. The Kelowna Rockets winger dished 39 goals and 56 helpers for 95 points in just 54 appearances and is known for his elite playmaking ability, quick hands and high hockey IQ.
