The 19-year-old spent the season overseas playing in the Sweden-2 league.

The Washington Capitals are bringing prospect Ludwig Persson over to North America, as the team has re-assigned him to the Hershey Bears from the HockeyAllsvenskan's BIK Karlskoga.

General manager Brian MacLellan announced the move on Friday.

Persson has played in 45 games with BIK Karlskoga this season, recording four goals and 11 assists. He also played in one game with Frölunda of the Swedish Hockey League and appeared in six games with Sweden's U20 team this season, scoring one goal.

The 19-year-old was taken 85th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft as one of two third-round picks for D.C. last year. He signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the team back in July.
