The Capitals got some injury updates at Monday's practice.

Washington Capitals Edmundson & TVR In Non-Contact

ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals got some updates on the injury front on Monday, as they saw several of their hurting players take the ice in one way or another.

Anthony Mantha, who was struck in the head by a puck on Wednesday, skated in a non-contact jersey ahead of practice with the group. Max Pacioretty also skated before practice on his own as he continues to work his way back from his second torn Achilles in a span of five months.

Washington also got encouraging news on the blue line, as Joel Edmundson and Trevor van Riemsdyk both joined the group for practice for the first time since their respective injuries. Both were in non-contact jerseys and skating on a pairing together.

The Capitals were missing two skaters, though, as Martin Fehervary remains off the ice and on the injured reserve while T.J. Oshie took a maintenance day.

Edmundson, who was acquired in the offseason to add depth and physicality to the blue line, has not played yet for the Capitals after breaking his hand and undergoing surgery early on in training camp.

Van Riemsdyk was injured back on Nov. 4 in the first period of the team's 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, appearing to hurt his foot.

Fehervary was hurt in the second period of Friday's game against the New Jersey Devils. He appeared to tweak something while defending in front of his crease, favoring his foot and making his way to the bench as the play went the other way.

In goal, Hunter Shepard, who was returned to Hershey on paper on Sunday, is still up with the big club. Darcy Kuemper, who was nicked up on Wednesday, was a full participant in practice.

Washington faces off against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
