The Capitals will be without Jensen and Sandin for the last two games of the season.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — Washington Capitals defenseman Nick Jensen was at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Sunday, paying a visit to his teammates just a day after being stretchered off the ice following a hit from Michael Eyssimont. And though it's a positive that he's up and around, he will miss the last two games of the regular season.
Head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed to reporters that Jensen will not play in the last two games due to the injury he sustained on Saturday. The hit appeared to knock him unconscious as he lay motionless on the ice before being stretchered off. He did not go to the hospital, though, and walked out of the arena under his own power with his family.
"He was in the facility today, so that was positive. Really good to see him able to leave and not have to go to the hospital and was able to go home and stay at his house last night. Everything was good from that standpoint," Carbery said, adding that Jensen is "definitely out" for the last two games.
Through 78 games this season, Jensen has a goal and 13 assists for 14 points. He is one of the team's most critical defensemen and logs heavy minutes on the top-4, so it will be a tall task to replace him over these next two games.
Meanwhile, the team is already operating without the services of Rasmus Sandin, who will miss the last two games with an upper-body injury after taking a hard hit from Parker Kelly on April 7 against Ottawa. Ethan Bear is also out indefinitely as he receives care from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
With Jensen, Sandin and Bear out, Vincent Iorio, Lucas Johansen and Dylan McIlrath are up with the Capitals to help fill the void. Washington sits in the second Wild Card spot and controls its own destiny with one more back-to-back left against the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers.
