The Capitals were in high spirits at a full practice on Wednesday.
ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals were in high spirits on Wednesday, taking the ice for a full practice off back-to-back wins.
Washington's players were all smiles and shouting at each other in encouragement as they got right back to work following a 3-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
John Carlson and Martin Fehervary both took maintenance days, and the lines will remain the same heading into Thursday's tilt with the Ottawa Senators.
All the while, the team got encouraging news on the injury front.
Charlie Lindgren skated with the team for the first time since he suffered an upper-body injury on Friday against the Montreal Canadiens. He was pulled in the second period of that game after he collided with Nick Suzuki in the crease and appeared to hit his head on the post before falling to the ice.
Lindgren will travel to Ottawa with the team to continue skating and is making good progress, per coach Spencer Carbery. He is eligible to come off the injured reserve on Saturday when the Capitals play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to Lindgren, Sonny Milano also joined the group for practice as he continues to get back in the swing of drills and full reps with the team. He remained in a non-contact jersey.
Milano has been out since Nov. 6, when he suffered an upper-body injury in a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators. He is still ways away from playing, but it's a positive sign as he continues to put in the work.
Washington plays Thursday and Saturday before heading on a lengthy west coast road swing to close out the month of January.
