The Capitals waived Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Joe Snively and more, and they are now down to 27 skaters.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals have made quite a few more cuts as training camp winds down, including Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Joe Snively.

Washington placed Aube-Kubel and Snively, along with Alex Limoges, Michael Sgarbossa, Joe Snively, Dylan McIlrath and Hunter Shepard, on waivers for the purpose of reassignment to Hershey.

Meanwhile, Hendrix Lapierre and Vincent Iorio's camps came to an end, while Ethen Frank, Riley Sutter and Chase Priskie were returned to Hershey after getting to play in Thursday's preseason game.

The Capitals are down to 27 skaters, and notable names still in the competition include Matthew Phillips and Ivan Miroshnichenko. Beck Malesntyn, Aliaskei Protas and Connor McMichael, who had been pencilled in for a roster spot, remain up.

On the blue line, Hardy Häman Aktell, Alex Alexeyev and Lucas Johansen are all still with Washington as they compete for Joel Edmundson's role and the spot of the seventh defenseman.
