The Washington Capitals will get a welcome sight on Tuesday, as Rasmus Sandin will make his return from injury against the Minnesota Wild.
Sandin has officially been activated from the injured reserve, per the NHL media website. He has missed six games due to an upper-body injury, and he missed two games before that due to illness.
Getting Sandin back should be a major boost for Washington, who is making some major changes on the blue line after a rough go of it in St. Louis. He will draw back in along with Trevor van Riemsdyk, while Alex Alexeyev and Ethan Bear will draw out as the healthy scratches.
To make space for Sandin, Hendrix Lapierre is no longer on the roster, indicating his return to the AHL's Hershey Bears.
In 25 games up with the Capitals this season, Lapierre has two goals and five assists for seven points.
