Oshie took a bump from Ekholm while entering the offensive zone.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals saw T.J. Oshie leave Friday's game with injury after an open-ice hit left him on the ice for a couple of minutes.

Oshie was entering the offensive zone when he took a bump from Mattias Ekholm, who collided with him at the blue line.

The 36-year-old went down in visible pain and stayed down while athletic trainer Jason Serbus came out to attend to him. After a few minutes, he was helped to his feet, and then helped to the bench and down the tunnel.

Oshie did not return to the game due to an upper-body injury suffered on the play, and per head coach Spencer Carbery, he will not join the team on the upcoming California road trip.
